In 2016, Margaret was diagnosed with two rare cancers. Over the years, she underwent radical surgeries, radiation, and multiple courses of chemotherapy. Despite these immense challenges, Margaret never lost her strength. She faced each day with courage and determination, fighting the hardest battle of her life.
Her husband, Jay Sevigny, cared for her through it all. “I did everything I could to make her life positive,” Jay shared. “Whatever she wanted, whatever she hoped to achieve, I made sure she could get there.” Through Margaret’s journey, Jay learned how precious life truly is. Together, they made every moment count, embracing joy, love, and purpose despite the struggles.
Hospice care became a vital part of their story. For nine months, the compassionate hospice team supported them in their home, offering guidance, comfort, and peace through every stage. Jay says their presence made all the difference, allowing them to focus on living fully, even in the face of illness.
A special thanks goes to Penny, their grief counselor, whose kindness and understanding brought comfort and healing during an incredibly difficult time.
“I can’t say enough about how hospice helped my wife and me,” Jay reflected. “They were with us every step of the way, ensuring Margaret’s final months were filled with dignity, love, and meaningful moments. I am forever thankful.”
