Work at our upscale resale shop in Chester, an operating unit of Compass. Sales of clothing, accessories, household items, and other treasures donated by the community benefit services provided by Compass.

Memory Pillows
Our memory pillow program helps our patients’ families turn their loved one’s clothing items into a lasting keepsake. This flexible volunteer opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy sewing.

Patient Care
Specially trained volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and their families in their homes, at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and at our residential hospice centers in Centreville.

Administrative
Versatile volunteers help to answer phones, file, greet visitors, assist with mailings and other general office work.

Vigil
Provide a compassionate, loving presence with hospice patients who are actively dying. As patients begin to draw closer to death and make their final transition, Vigil Volunteers comfort them emotionally and spiritually, ensuring that they do not die alone.

Camp New Dawn
Volunteers assist in many capacities with the annual grief retreat for children, teens and families by mentoring campers, facilitating activities and assisting with planning, outreach and fundraising.

Veteran-To-Veteran
Patient care volunteers with military experience have the unique ability to connect with patients who served in the military, and with their families, by providing support and companionship.
