Compass Collaboration with Pink for Patsy

Compass is collaborating with a local nonprofit breast cancer support group, Pink for Patsy, offering support and the chance to connect with others who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Pink for Patsy is a nonprofit organization driven to positively impact the lives of current and future breast cancer patients by educating women about their risks, supporting mammograms and early detection in Queen Anne's County and the surrounding area in Maryland. The organization strives to empower breast cancer patients and survivors with the tools and resources they need to fight this disease and to heal in survivorship.

This bi-weekly support group is led by a master’s level grief counselor, Rhonda Knotts, Director of Grief Services at Compass Hospice. The groups allows people to share their personal experiences, ways of coping and helpful resources.

In this specialized group, your participation will:

  • Reduce feelings of loneliness, anxiety and distress.
  • Help you learn new ways of coping.
  • Increase feelings of hope and empowerment.
  • Provide you with practical information and resources.
  • Help you communicate better with your medical team and loved ones.

This group will begin on Wednesday, September 10th at 5pm and continue every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Hope and Healing Center at Compass. A light dinner will be provided.

Whether you’re seeking support, offering encouragement, or simply wishing to connect with others who understand, you are welcome here. If you are currently in treatment, or have completed your treatment - this group has provided a caring, healing space for members of our community, and we encourage you to join.
