  • Outright Gifts of Cash- For those who prefer to make a direct one-time gift, outright gifts of cash are gratefully accepted.
  • Stocks and Securities- Giving a gift of appreciated securities is a wonderful way to support Compass Regional Hospice.

Campaign Priorities

Much like a compass, the priorities of the Charting Our Course Together capital campaign points the way toward the future of Compass Regional Hospice. We have identified priorities that will help us chart a course that considers the current and future needs of the communities we serve.

Renovate Hope & Healing and Residential Hospice Center

The building at 255 Comet Drive in Centreville has served the community and Compass staff and volunteers well since opening in 2008. The comprehensive renovation plan focuses on improving the functionality of the current building so that it better serves as the home base for the Hope & Healing Center and continues to serve as the residential and general inpatient Hospice Center.

The renovation plan will address the following areas:

  • Create a central enterance and a more welcoming waiting area for visitors
  • Create additional parking
  • Add four additional hospice beds
  • Create private exterior areas leading out from patient rooms
  • Create a more private family meeting space in the Hospice Center
  • Move the chapel to a more convenient location for patients and families
  • Soundproof rooms in the Hope & Healing Center
  • Create spaces for multi-use conference area, activity space for children, individual counseling sessions, support groups, workshops and other healing modalities

Build Hospice Beds in Kent County

Add a physical presence in Kent County that will include residential hospice beds at an existing facility for more convenient access to hospice care.

Create an Endowment for All Three Counties

To ensure that our region will always have high quality hospice services, we are creating an unrestricted endowment fund to support the general purposes of Compass Regional Hospice. An endowment will ensure that Compass Regional Hospice has the resources to withstand economic variance, disasters, a loss of key funding source, or other unexpected economic events that might otherwise cause us to cut back or cease operations.

A New Regional Headquarters

Since becoming the sole regional provider of hospice care and grief support in Queen Anne's, Kent and Caroline Counties, the number of patients we care for has nearly tripled, and we have more than tripled our staff.

To open space for the Hope & Healing Center and to accommodate patients, staff, volunteers and services that have been added, we have purchased an office building at 160 Coursevall Drive in Centreville. The generous support of county government, community businesses, and local banks has made this investment possible.

To continue to provide the highest level of care, it is essential that we recruit and retain excellent staff and volunteers, giving them the tools they need to provide the best possible services to our communities. Our new headquarters will enable us to accomplish this by providing an efficient working environment.

Compass Regional Hospice recognizes the value of "in-filling" existing structures in the community for our purpose, and desires to be good stewards of the environment by avoiding the waste of natural resources when possible.
